Hikvision is the largest manufacturer of CCTV in the world and E-Tec Services is a Hikvision Certified Security Associate. We only purchase from authorised Hikvision UK Trade Distributors and will never install ‘grey’ imported products. These can give rise to many problems.
Current CCTV consists of two main technologies, IP Network and Analogue High Definition. HD-TVI has emerged as the clear market leader in respect of analogue.
IP Network cameras can record to an on-board memory card. This makes them ideal for a one or two camera system. A smartphone App will connect you to the camera/s from anywhere.
CCTV is a great way to protect the perimeter of your home. If you own a holiday home on the Isle of Wight, CCTV can provide a very good way of keeping an eye on your property from a distance.
HD-TVI cameras can be used to upgrade a CCTV system to HD using the existing coaxial cables. An HD-TVI recorder will support standard definition cameras meaning upgrades can be carried out gradually.
For new systems, IP Network will generally cost more than HD-TVI, but are more future-proof in some respects. The cameras have many advanced features.
We will usually provide a quotation for both technologies for new systems. Our customers are usually amazed by how good CCTV can be these days. This is especially the case with upgrades. Grainy dark images now replaced with bright HD images.
